Stafford Corporate Consulting provides discreet professional advice to ambitious companies and entrepreneurs. Assignments include strategic and financial advice in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, fundraising and other related shareholder issues. Stafford will also manage the implementation of the transaction.

The principals of Stafford are Roger Looker and Tim Seymour who, together, have extensive City experience. They are backed by a team of non-executive Directors, including the Chairman of Stafford, Edwin Glasgow CBE QC, a former Chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel, and William Goff, who also acts as a consultant to the company.

Roger Looker
Roger Looker, was educated at Dulwich College and Bristol University before qualifying as a barrister. In 1977 he joined County Bank (which subsequently became Natwest Markets) where he spent 8 years, latterly as Senior Vice-President in New York.

In 1986 he and Tim Seymour founded Gilbert Elliot Corporate Finance, which later became part of the private banking group, Rea Brothers, where he was a Director and significant shareholder until its acquisition by Close Brothers in 2000.

In 1985 he was co-founder, and later Deputy Chairman, of Grosvenor Inns plc which became Slug and Lettuce plc and obtained a listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1992. In 1997 he led the buy-out of the unbranded estate of Slug and Lettuce by the Ambishus Pub Company, which itself obtained an AIM quote in 1998. He has held Directorships in a number of other public companies, including the Chairmanship of RPS Group plc. He is also a significant investor in and/or Director of a portfolio of private companies.

Roger was a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel from 1995-1997. He was Chairman of the Harlequin Football Club for 10 years until 1997, having played for Harlequins and the Barbarians.


Tim Seymour
Tim Seymour was brought up in South Africa where he was educated at Michaelhouse and Natal University. After receiving a commission in the South African Navy he won a Rhodes Scholarship and took a first in PPE at Oxford and won a Rugby Blue.

After qualifying as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1977 he spent 10 years as a merchant banker, first with S.G. Warburg & Co., and then with County Bank where, as a Director, he was responsible for a wide range of clients, including National Westminster Bank, Securicor, Saatchi & Saatchi, Sandell Perkins, Thermal Scientific and Emess Lighting.

In 1986 he and Roger Looker founded Gilbert Elliot Corporate Finance, which later became part of the private banking group, Rea Brothers, where he was Head of Corporate Finance and a Director and shareholder until its acquisition by Close Brothers in 2000. Rea Brothers specialised in all areas of corporate finance advice for growth companies, both quoted and unquoted and, with the Benfield Group, were partners in a joint venture, which provided specialist advice to the insurance industry.

Tim has held Directorships in a number of public and private companies including the quoted groups Le Creuset and Royal Sovereign, where he was non-executive Chairman.


Edwin Glasgow CBE QC
Edwin Glasgow CBE QC was called to the Bar in 1969 and took Silk in 1987. He specialises in all areas of commercial and common law litigation, and has been involved in many of the public inquiries and litigation associated with major disasters over the past ten years. He was Chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel between 1992 and 1998, and was made CBE in 1999.


William Goff
William Goff was a partner in Eversheds, specialising in corporate law. He later established his own independent consultancy. He has held directorships of both private and publicly quoted companies, and was one of the founders of the Stafford Group, which led to the formation of Stafford Corporate Consulting in January 2001.
